Our Visit with Santa

Our family has always had a tradition of visiting Santa in downtown Seattle. My mom and her sister would visit the Santa at Frederick & Nelson and we continued to go there when I was growing up until they went out of business and then we started going to Nordstrom. Since Dylan has been born my mom and I have gone to Seattle for a fun morning with the kid(s). Even though we go on a weekday there is still normally a 45min. to 1 hour wait. It can be long, but I wouldn't have it any other way. Santa is always so thoughtful and he really takes his time with each child.
This year was extra special because it was Taylor's first visit to Santa. Dylan is a jeans and t-shirt kinda guy and it took a lot to get him to dress up, but he was such a handsome little man! They had fun dancing while they waited. They are just so precious together!

Dylan and Santa had a great conversation. Santa noticed how much Dylan had grown and he even knew that Snoopy the Elf had been hiding at our house everyday to make sure that Dylan was making good choices. It was really special! Dylan told Santa that he wanted a scooter and he even asked Santa to bring Taylor a new toy. Santa thought he was very thoughtful to think of his sister!

Special hug with Santa!

I was shocked that our picture turned out this well! Dylan had a really cheesy smile and was slouching. Taylor was okay for a little bit. She looked up at Santa a lot trying to figure out what the beard was all about. She never cried but after a few minutes she was trying to get out his lap and was reaching for me. Overall, it was a good first visit to Santa for Taylor.

Next we headed to Macy's to see the trains and then Dylan and I rode the carousel. Dylan chose the beautiful big purple horse.

Next, we headed to see the Gingerbread houses at the Sheraton. The highlight of the morning was definitely the teddy bear room at the Fairmont. It is a suite in the Fairmont that is filled with teddy bears. Dylan had so much fun moving them all around and snuggling with them.

Taylor had fun too! It was a very special morning and we were happy to share it with Grandma!
