Thanksgiving 2010

Thanksgiving was amazing as usual!!! The Schmits, Willetts, Kemppainens, Chighizolas, and Hinton were all there to celebrate. Nana cookied a delicious meal and we enjoyed a special day together.

It was so special having Taylor around for her first Thanksgiving. She ate turkey, squash, mashed potatoes and cranberry sauce. I was bummed that she couldn't eat the stuffing (we are still eliminating wheat from her diet) because it is my favorite part of the meal and I felt like she was missing out. Hopefully next year she will be able to eat as much stuffing and pie as she wants!

Gramps can always make Taylor smile.

Dylan still lets Nana snuggle him and sing lullabies to him.

I loved getting such a wonderful smooch from my little man! His isn't much of a snuggler/kisser and I cherish each time I get them!

Uncle Mike has a special way with the babies!
Dylan and Taylor haivng fun with their self appointed "fairy god mother" Cyndy!

Aunt Lizzy is such a great Aunt and the kiddos LOVE her!

Dylan skiing on deck and Taylor's First time in the Snow

We got our first snow of the season and Dylan wasn't about to miss out on an opportunity to break out his new skis! I think he is a natural! He spent about 30 minutes skiing around on our deck and he loved it.

Taylor was dying to get out in the snow all day. She stood at the sliding glass door while Dylan was skiing on the deck and she kept trying to make her escape when I would open the door. When I finally took her out in the afternoon she was totally calm and just sat in the sled (Normally she would be squirming to get out and move around). She really liked to lick the snow off her glove. It was so fun to see her experience snow for the first time!

I love my little eskimo!

Dylan was so excited to ski in the culdesac. He loved to cruise around!

Happy Halloween!!!

I'm glad I decided to take pictures early in the day this year. It might not look that way from the picture above, but Dylan was having a rough time later in the evening and so I'm glad I took some time to try and get pictures in the afternoon. Taylor was a little upset when I first set her down (she is going through major separation anxiety from me), but she settled down pretty quickly.

Who wouldn't love to have this fireman and fire dog show up at their house?

Taylor and Kellen trick-or-treating together. Kellen wore Dylan's first Halloween costume and he was a very cute turtle.

It is a little hard to see, but we had a big group for trick-or-treating.

We were expecting Father Rick, but Chef Rick was a fun surprise!

The Stever's house is always a definite stop. The kids love going to Joel and Jared house!

We did a progressive dinner with the neighbors and I hosted the dinner/dessert portion. I made broomstick goodie bags. Thanks, Bryan for making the perfect broom sticks for me!

Dylan loved the wax lips from the goodie bag.

The fireman, skeleton, and Snow White were having fun playing together. The top bunk is always a popular hangout!

Daddy was Jim Bob Billy Bob. Dylan was so impressed with Dad's costume and he thought it was so funny. He kept putting it on and saying that he was Jim Bob Jim Bob. It was

Trick-or-treating at Daddy's work

We had so much fun trick-or-treating at Daddy's work today! Dylan loves visiting Bryan at work and he was very excited about the idea of stocking up on candy.

Dylan ended up getting so much candy that I had to use his fire hat to hold the overflow from his candy bucket. He was very polite the whole time and did a great job of saying "trick-or-treat" and "thank you". We went to grandma and grandpas afterward and he spread out all of his candy on the table to look at it and take inventory. I didn't think this happened until kids were older, but I guess when your kid has a major sweet tooth (hmm...I wonder where he got that from) it starts a little early =)

Taylor was a trooper walking around for an hour collecting candy.

Dylan was wiped out after trick-or-treating and he feel asleep with the lollipop in his mouth. It was hilarious!!

Both kids crashed on the way home.

Quest for the Perfect Picture

I am continuously on a quest to get the perfect picture of my two little ones. When I say perfect, I don't mean one where they are positioned just right or one where they have on a cute outfit. I just want one where they are both looking at the camera and smiling at the same time. It was difficult when I just had Dylan because he doesn't like to have his picture taken, but it is WAY more challenging now that I have two subjects to try and capture. All I can say is I am so thankful for digital cameras and the ability they give you to take tons of photos without guilt.
Below are a few of the pics that were taken that didn't quite turn out.
(They are still cute though - I love the ones they are laughing together) =)

Taylor Month by Month

I can't believe Taylor is 9 and a half months already!!! The months have flown by so much faster with her then they did with Dylan. Our life is busier and we don't sit and wonder when she will reach each milestone, as we did with Dylan, we just look at each other in amazement of how fast she is moving through all the stages. Here is a look at Taylor from birth-9 months.
